Cold brew often packs more caffeine than regular coffee - a result of its high coffee-to-water concentrate and how much you dilute it. Here's what drives the number.

Cold brew has a reputation for being a caffeine heavyweight, and there is real truth to it — but the honest answer is that it depends almost entirely on how the cold brew is made and how much it is diluted. There is no single number. What is fair to say is that cold brew is often higher in caffeine than a regular cup of coffee, for two specific reasons: it is usually brewed as a strong concentrate, and it is served in a large volume. The short answer

A serving of cold brew can range from roughly the caffeine of a normal cup of coffee to substantially more, depending on the concentrate strength and dilution. Why cold brew is often higher

Whatever your cold brew's strength, keep the daily total in mind.
